In 2010, Half the Sky announced its intention to transition into a training and mentoring organization over the next several years. Even while embarking on this ambitious effort - the natural next step toward empowering workers in China's orphan care system - Half the Sky managed to open three new Model Children's Centers, train dozens of caregivers and orphanage directors, and to operate more than fifty existing Children's Centers across China.

Supporters rate Half the Sky at Great NonProfits:
Without Half the Sky, my infant adopted daughter from China would not have had the one thing that every child needs to grow up healthy: love. Donors to Half the Sky buy that invaluable thing: loving care and nurture for China's most vulnerable children, those in state orphanages, many of them with disabilities. My daughter, now 9, got a great start in life because she had a Half the Sky nanny for the first year of her life. As the needs of China's orphans change, Half the Sky changes the kind of care it provides, including providing psychological nurture for the orphans of the 2008 Sichuan earthquakes. I cannot endorse this organisation more highly!"- Patti Waldmeir, Shanghai, China
