Orphaned babies and toddlers who need specialized medical care not available in their home towns can be brought to the China Care Home* in Beijing. The Home, operated in partnership with the Chinese government’s Tomorrow Plan, provides individual treatment plans and nurturing round-the-clock pre and post-operative care for up to 70 medically fragile patients from all over China.
Once admitted, each child is assigned a loving nanny or foster mom who will be there for her, whether in-hospital or recuperating at home. The China Care Home offers the same kind of loving family-style care and stimulation that Half the Sky-inspired homes around the country provide … playrooms, music, cuddly toys and even a preschool!
Most important, of course, are the loving arms and warm smiles of devoted nannies – always there for little ones who are fighting for their lives.
*We are thrilled to announce that thanks to our all-Chinese sister foundation, Chunhui Children, we are no longer raising funds for the China Care Home. As of 1/1/15, Chunhui Children will assume full responsibility for funding and operating the Home so we can concentrate on raising funds for our orphanage-based programs and our national, interactive trainings that are helping transform China's welfare system.
