I am so excited to share the news that a special member of our 1 Big Family, Teresa (LiuFang) Bartilinski, a tiny child with a “sweet, crooked smile, a “sassy” personality, and an “iron will” to live (her mom’s words) has finally been put on the heart transplant list two years after her family brought her home!
In 2009, Teresa (LiuFang) was one of 3 Very Special Little Girls living at our China Care Home. Back then, we asked for your help when we received special permission to help find families for Teresa, Lily (CaiPing) and Jennifer (ZiJun).
When she first came home, Teresa’s doctors didn’t think she would survive the transplant operation she needed. Instead of giving up, her family, through their blog, asked people all over the world to pray for a miracle. Amazingly, Teresa started growing stronger.
Now five years old, Teresa is packed and ready, waiting for the phone call that could save her life. Meanwhile, hooked up to her oxygen tank, Teresa still loves to play, loves books, loves her eight siblings and her parents, and loves her life. Says Teresa's mom Ann, “There have been times when Teresa has not felt so great but she has never lost her LOVE for life.”
We're once again turning to our entire 1 Big Family to ask for support for Teresa and her family in any way you choose – with prayers, messages, love, and by following her story on her family’s blog.
Teresa’s physical heart desperately needs repair, but Teresa already has a huge heart/spirit—she is a magical child.
Warm Regards,

ps - Read about a remarkable Half the Sky supporter, Dave West, whose goal is to summit 14 mountains in 14 days and raise $14,000 for the children, all in honor of his dear friends Laurel, Hannah (8), Zoey (5) and Lucia (2) Constantinides, who died tragically in a flash flood last summer.
