...and especially China’s children whom we serve in Anhui, Chongqing, Guangxi, Henan, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Shanghai and soon… Hainan!

We are very pleased to announce some exciting new plans for the Spring of 2005.

In Jiangsu Province, Half the Sky will be creating, in cooperation with the Provincial Bureau of Civil Affairs, a very special project… an International Children’s Village to provide the best possible start in life for preschool-age orphans from all over the province. The children will live with carefully selected and trained foster parents in an apartment complex near the welfare institution at Gaoyou, Jiangsu, and will attend a new HTS Little Sisters Preschool there.

After a few months operation, we plan to invite families from the surrounding community to send children to the HTS school also. Along with the provincial government, we are very eager to see orphaned children who may not be adopted be able to live with loving families and be integrated into their communities. We hope that this new project will create a model worth imitating in other provinces.

We will also be creating a Baby Sisters Infant Nurture Center and a Big Sisters Project at Gaoyou.

In addition, HTS will create a new Baby Sisters Infant Nurture Center at Lianyungang, Jiangsu.

And we will establish a Little Sisters Preschool and Baby Sisters Infant Nurture at Haikou, Hainan.

And a small preschool at Sanya, Hainan.

It’s going to be a very busy spring!
